Noche Buena in Cartagena.

I know, I know..I’m super late on this one, but I just have to tell you about my first Christmas away from my family.  It took me a few days to decide where to spend christmas. It was between Cartagena and Medellín. My biggest fear was that I would be in Colombia spending this day alone. After consulting with my new friend Ruben who is also a staff member of one day hostel, I decided to spend it in Cartagena. We agreed to cook dinner at the hostel. It started with just the two of us, but at the end it was about 15 people.  We chipped and bought the necessities. We prepped, cooked, ate, drank, sang songs and danced. What did we eat? Crazy combination ..Bbq ribs, mashed potatoes, pasta, salad, guacamole and dessert. Although I did miss my family, I feel very grateful that I spent it with a fun group. On that day we were all like family…what a great memory to have. See my photos of xmas eve and xmas day here
